Evaluation 5:

5. How did you attract/address your audience?

I would address my target audience through various different below the line marketing which would mainly include many social networking sites, for example Face book links and fan pages also posting links and videos on Twitter or Instagram. YouTube will also attract a lot of my target audience from a wider society and background.

Feedback results

Image                                                                                                                                   This is the media product on YouTube and there response rate was clearly all positive and none was negative. Overall there was 109 views and will carry on getting more . This was a very big advantage of attracting our main target audience and wider audiences as YouTube is very well known with the target age group (16-40) therefore its very easy, no difficulties and no struggle all legit and feedback with be shown for everyone to see.

Evaluation 1,2,3,4:

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

In our media product we have used the many different codes and conventions of the sub genre action thriller; to an extent these codes and conventions have been clearly displayed. For example the some of these codes and convention could be outburst in settings, cat and mouse chase, always a motive, big city modern and my favourite futuristic cars, cars and motorcycles. These are some one the conventions which my media had used and developed further into our main sequence. However we also combined these conventions with the codes of the thriller genre. For example some of which was used was mind games, mystery,   twists, anticipation and my favourite lack of truth from the characters which I felt had been displayed lovely throughout the whole extract. Combining these two genres creating the action thriller sub genre, there had been times during filming and editing where the media product needed to be changed due realistic factors, the narrative had also been mixed about until we believe the storyline was possible, realistic, attract its target audience as well as include action thriller codes and conventions. We knew the basic ground on which we need to build the narrative around and these are the ideas below shown in each diagram. I felt choosing a sub genre was much better the a singular genre as we now have much more range of thought which could be possible however the disadvantage of this was seeing if it was actually possible and not over packing the extract making it look like a trailer.

Although we didn’t have the same media technology to match up with the ideas we was creating we decided to use what we had to its fullest advantage. Knowing the action thriller has been moods however also target audience attraction we knew we need to do something within the extract which will engross the audience. Blood and murders was a possible solution however when weighing the positives and negatives, the negatives had won. We didn’t want to confuse the genre which was very important to use and the storyline. Therefore this is one of the complications which we need to overcome during the production, we wanted a fifty percent of mixture between the codes and conventions which also needed to be possible and realistic. We found some more then other more possible for example “Hi tech – big machinery, weapons – knives and guns, explosions and crashes” didn’t seem very realistic with the technology and equipment we had been given however we worked around this obstacle

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
My media product has been target to a particular ethnic background which is the Asian community. However does target to a wider target audience ages of 16-40. The characters in my media product represents people of the Indian background therefore could represent the Indian community although the film with the issued with English subtitles the main social group with have to be 16-40 year old Indians. However due to the English subtitles its welcome to attract a wider target audience and free for anyone to watch. My media product will be mainly targeting male Indians of the ages 16-40 this is because males are more engrossed into the action thriller genre. Females are more attracted to the stereotypical romantic (chick-flick) therefore males would be another social group targeted.

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
An Indian distributing company will definitely take interest in distributing our media product because there are many codes and conventions which match what the Indian community enjoy when watching films. My media product has been based around the Indian community and tried moulding and sculpting the production from there feedback. All the characters used in the media product has been of the same ethnic background therefore having the same mutual understanding and knowledge of the cultural backgrounds. My media product could be distributed by Fox Star Studios Fox Star Studios is an India based movie production and distribution company, a joint venture between Twentieth Century Fox, one of the world’s largest producers and distributors of motion pictures and STAR, India’s leading media and entertainment company, both owned by Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox .

Script

I have produced a script with the help of Vimesh and together we will use this as a remind of the storyline and a key frame to base the filming around.

We also drove the car very slowly and used editing to speed up the car.

Shooting at different location:

Shooting at 3 different locations was difficult firstly the establishing shot is a Stratford Westfield Shopping Centre which was an obstacle just itself, consider it was Christmas period and the shopping centre was very busy therefore trying to shoot a scene without any public involved was hard. The establishing shot itself did take a maximum of 3hours however once it was done the group and I felt very pleased with ourselves. quickly after we decided to film in the same location however different area, which was the outside staircase of Westfield it has become dark therefore took the opportunity to film as the dark lighting and mysterious atmosphere is exactly what we needed to attract our target audience. We also shot Vimesh elevator scene, the second shooting location was the ‘car scene’ I was not informed about this location as Izhaar felt I didn’t need to be there and decided before even asking me if I should be there. I personally felt very disappointed and felt even though I wasn’t featuring in any shoots I again wanted to be apart of the group and wanted to share my possible ideas and suggestions. Therefore I wasn’t even present during the shooting of the car scene. Last location was in the Ilford exchange car park staircase. Again this was very difficult due to the fact of having other public walking into the scene

Research into Action Thriller

As a group we had chosen action thriller as the genre of our main sequence.

understanding action thriller abit more The genre “Action Thriller” is, on its surface, a mixture of action and thriller content. To understand what this genre’s name actually means, however, we must analyse its components.

An action work will generally have a fast-paced, centered, and definite plot. It generally adheres to the hero cycle faithfully, and its plot revolves around character development. Action is inclined toward third person narration, although first person narration is not unusual. Action works are also generally down-to-earth works, even though their premise may be fanciful.

Thriller is similar. It features a down-to-earth plot, and it frequently plays into people’s fears (e.g. the film “Alien” is a thriller.). However, thriller has a greater tendency toward digression than action. Also, thriller “rises” and “falls,” whereas action simply rises and keeps you there

Therefore Action Thriller would be a combination of both.

SHOOTING!

Although I had missed all the meetings I made sure I was informed with everything the group had discussed and ideas I really wanted to feel like I belonged and participated. Roles in the group were already taken,

Vimesh – being the Music/Sound and also the editor

Izhaar – being the producer

Jathesh – being the director

Myself – Co-director also makeup artist
